内容記述 | This paper constitutes part of the continuous research work on the concept of art education of Nobuo SAWANOI (1916-1990). In the previous paper (Part 1), his brief personal history was compiled to explore the background of his idea of art education, followed by empirical examination of his literary as well as art works. This research work mainly features analysis of the contents of “New Picture-Oriented Play”, which is SAWANOI’s principal literary work in the field of art education and was published in 1956, to explore his idea of art education. A list of 105 themes was prepared and these themes were then classified into 10 categories of activity based on their contents, works referred to, authors referred to, etc. The category related to abstract art and patterns as “configuration of a form” and “creation of a pattern or picture by drawing lines”, etc. accounts for some 33% of the total pages dealing with various themes. This relative prominence of the category relating to abstract art and patterns is inferred to have originated from such facts that SAWANOI formative study under Saburo HASEGAWA (1906-1957), the entry of his works to exhibitions of Jiyu Bijutsuka Kyokai and his work at the publication and design desks of Daimaru Department Store. Meanwhile, the category of “viewing and appreciation of art works” accounts for some 22% of the total pages. This category includes suggestions and stimulation to lead to various artistic activities in addition to the pure appreciation of art works. In short, this book is summarized as a collection of ideas for approachable art themes, skillfully linking the art and design culture of his time to “play”, an ingredient of the daily life of children. | |||||||
