| 内容記述 | This paper examines the full texts of NHK' s program "Today' s Close-Up" (to be edited, using the data available on the home page of the program), and shows how they are exceedingly useful for citizenship education and how they can be used for that purpose. This paper pays special attention to the language-learning factor of citizenship education, and presents a proposal for reading and writing exercises in classroom, explaining how they should be designed in the light of citizenship education. This paper also examines students' performances in the classroom, showing that some students succeeded while others did not, and reflects on the better design for the exercises. Those who are interested in NIE may benefit from this paper, if NIE could be paraphrased as News in Education. | |||||||
