Five fences were settled in short grass community in the park at April 2007, these were changed by month in location, then the higher part of vegetation were collected in five 10 cm × 10 cm area than that of neighbouring unfenced area. Collected vegetation were dried and weighed as biomass. Monthly biomass were very little during winter, these increased from spring and maintained to autumn. Total biomass through the year was 2,985 kg/ha/year. This result was similar to the result of Kinkazan island, Miyagi prefecture under high density of sika deer like Nara Park, and suggested short grass community in Nara Park could raise ca. 700 deer.}, title = {高密度にニホンジカ(Cervus nippon)が棲息する奈良公園におけるシバ地植生の生産量}, year = {2015} }
