Hotelling'sT2 test using Mahalanobis' generalized distance was applied to analytical data of ancient potsherds(Sueware)from Ishikawa prefecture.The data used is the same ones in the previous work(1983)in which a sourcing was made by visual distributions of Rb,Sr,Na and Mn contents.In the work,the sourcing was successfully made for most of the samples,but the sources of several samples could not be determined.That is because the content distributions of kiln groups overlap each other. Hotelling's T2 test was applied for these samplesus using K,Ca,Fe,Rb,Sr,Na and Mn contents. The tests were made for two cases;(1)using x-ray fluorescent analysis data,(2)using both x-ray fluorescent and activation analyses data.The sources of 12 among 19 samples were Successfully determined. |
