There are various animals used as teaching material for raising in Life Environmental Study. In this study, we considered whether the silkworm were an appropriate teaching material for Life Environmental Study or not. Second grade students in Asuka elementary school had observed the growth of the silkworm for about one month. As a result, the students became familiar with the silkworm and they had been aware of metabolism, reproduction and respect of life through raising and observing the silkworm. However, they could not be aware of the relationship between the industry and the silkworm. We propose that the silkworm is suitable for Life Environmental Study teaching material. |
