Ancient ceramic sherds (Yayoi-, Haji-, Sue-wares and Haniwa from 36 sites in Hiroshima prefecture) were analyzed. by energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer. Yayoi- and Haji-wares from the sites in western Hiroshima showed similar analytical results, or small concentrations of Ca and Sr. On the contrary, dispersive values of these element concentrations were observed for the samples from eastern Hiroshima. The concentrations of Ca and Sr in Sue'samples were less than those of Yayoi- and Haji-wares accompanied with the Sue-wares. Haniwa samples showed the same characteristics for the samples from the same site, and Rb-Sr and K-Ca distributions of them differ from those of yayoi- and Haji-wares. The clay samples collected in Hiroshima prefecture were also anaiyzed. Analytical data indicated that each clay sample has a similar feature of Rb and Sr concentrations as Yayoi- and Sue-wares from the same district. |
