In this paper we will examine how valid it is for students to hear life stories from teachers when it comes to early teacher education. Firstly, we demonstrate how teacher life stories are applied for education research and teacher education. Next, we give an outline of the life story of a particular teacher, told to students immediately following their entrance to teachers college. By hearing that life story, students not only obtained new knowledge about the practice of education, but also objectively reconsidered education they had received. In addition, while having a more realistic image of the teaching profession, they began to consider their own career choices. There are even cases of students who had been passive about education becoming more proactive. However, there are also some students who do not yet have confidence about being in the position of doing the teaching themselves. Conscientious guidance throughout the four year period of teacher education is desired.}, pages = {1--11}, title = {教員養成導入期における教師のライフストーリーの有用性 -「 教職の意義等に関する科目」への活用に向けて-}, volume = {61}, year = {2012} }
