As a framework explaining Remember/Know procedure, Rajaram (1996)propose that Remember judgment reflects distinctiveness process and the Know judgment reflect fluency of process. The result of the experiment that uses the word maaterials can not be necessarily applied though this framework can be applied for the result of the experiment that uses the picture materials. Using word materials,Varying the script type of items(Katakana and Hiragana)manipulated between study and test phases influenced Know judgment.
