The Noto River flows from Jigokudani-Shinike pond at Kasuga primeval forest through Nara city. Its flow length measures 5.6km and the basin area is 4.4K㎡. We studied the water quality, mainly as the concentration of nutrient salts and principle inorganic components of the Noto, and the fauna and flora of the riverside. It was observed that the river water was polluted by waste water from drainage pipes. |
