内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 In this paper, the author examines the changes in spatial patterns of retailing in Kinki Region for 1979 and 1997, and classifies districts in Kinki Region in 1979 and 1997 to elucidate the spatial structure of retailing in metropolitan area. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The number of retail shops decreased in some districts in rural areas for 1979-1982. For 1994-1997, the number of shops decreased rapidly in main cities in urban areas and in some towns and villages in rural areas. Large stores increased rapidly in main cities in urban areas, but almost small towns in rural areas do not have large stores in 1997. 2. In 1979, by using Ward'method cluster analysis, 268 districts in Kinki Region are classified into four groups. These groups are labeled as A, B, C, D according to their average values of commercial centrality. Group A is composed mainly of commercial centers in rural areas and Osaka City. This group has highest average values of shops per population. Group B is composed mainly of suburban centers in urban areas. This group has lowest average values of shops per population. Large stores locate in most of districts in group A and B. Group C is composed mainly of towns and villages in rural areas. Group D is composed mainly of towns and villages at the edge of urban areas and in rural areas. There are few districts with large stores in Group C and D. 3. In 1997, by using Ward'method cluster analysis, 268 districts in Kinki Region are classified into four groups. These groups are labeled as E, F, G, H according to their average values of commercial centrality. Group E is composed mainly of commercial centers in rural areas and Osaka City. This group has highest average values of shops per population. Group F is composed mainly of suburban centers in urban areas. This group has lowest average values of shops per population. Large stores locate in most of districts in Group E and F. Group G is composed mainly of towns and villages in rural areas. Group H is composed mainly of towns and villages at the edge of urban areas and in rural areas. These districts have the second lowest value of shops per population. There are few districts with large stores in Group C and D.
