| 内容記述 | The present study was carried out to develop a list for assessing individual differences in the study habits of Junior High School students. A list of 62 items, representing learning behavior during study periods, was provided t0 113 seventh graders, 125 eighth graders and 154 ninth graders. They were asked to rate the frequency of each learning behavior on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 having the lowest rating. The correlation between the rating of each item and test performance in school was then computed and 29 items with correlations below 0.20 were excluded because of their poor prediction values. A factor analysis yielded 2 factors, comprised of 13 of the 33 items. Each factor consisted of items with correlations which exceeded 0.40, and had minimal overlap with the other factor. Factor I was characterised by 10 items which indicated study plan and execution and was referred to as the Study Plan and Execution factor. Factor II was comprised of 3 items which indicated note-taking, and it was referred to as the Habits of Note-taking factor. A multiple regression analysis indicated that the Habits of Note-taking scale explained 5% of the test performance of seventh graders, but the Study Plan and Execution scale did not. The same analysis indicated that both scales explained 15% of the test performance of eighth graders, and 37% of the test performance of ninth graders. | |||||||||
