| 内容記述 | In this article, the concept of teaching and learning across different subject areas developed by L.Duncker and M.W.Schwander was analyzed and further discussed in relation to "integrated learning", which is one of the hot issues in recent educational reform in Japan. Concerning "integrated learning" in Japan, the author has concluded that the following viewpoints suggested by Duncker and Schwander are relevant in consideration of integration of subject areas. 1. Teaching and learning across subject areas enables learners to pursue the learning content richer and deeper than simple summation of some subject areas. 2. Teaching and learning across subject areas should have teachers understand relative standing of each subject area in the whole curriculum picture. It also helps teachers convince that learning is able to intepret the reality effectively. 3. Teaching and learning across subject areas questions the rationale of traditional subject areas to be included in curriculum, and it suggests that "collection" is a key concept when organizing materials for a subject and/or subject areas. 4. Teaching and learning across curriculum areas should not explain only one phenomenon, but it should assume a character which acts as an exemplary model to apply across similar phenomena. | |||||||
