| 内容記述 | The present studv aimed to examine the combined effcts of between-item, within-item, and autobiographical elaborations on incidental memory. Ten triplets were prepared, each of them consisted of three targets to be rememberd, e.d., red thistle, plant, that were related to a common associate, e.g., flower. Each target, e.g., red, in a triplet had a specific associate, e.g., apple. The specific associate Was one of the associates of the Word, but it was not the associate of the other two words, eg., thistle, plant, within a troplet. ln the orienting task phase, each target being presented two times, at each presentation, subjects wore asked to rate the relation between each tareet and its paired word (common associate or specific associate) in the conditions involving between-item or withim elaborations. In the conditions involving autobiographical elaboration, subjects were asked to rate the vividness of an episode on each target In Experiment I, the retention differences between the combination of between-item and between item elaborations and that of between-item and within-item elaborations or that of within-item and between-item elaboration were not observed. This result did not support the framework of relational and item-specific informations proposed by Hunt and his colleagues. In Experiment II, the combination of between-item and autobiographical elaborations led to a better recall than that of between-item and within-item elaborations. This difference between the two combinations showed that autobiographical elaboration was more effective than within-item elaboration in the process of discrimination in retrival. These results were interpreted in terms of new framework that distinguished the information from semantic memory and that from episodic memory. | |||||||
