| 内容記述 | In this study, we investigated an aspect of enculturation of music by examining the cognitive ability of tonality (melodic scale) in several developmental stages of Japanese youth. Subjects are 120 kindergarten children, 172 elementary school children ( 2nd, 4th and 6th grade) and 118 university students. Stimuli, made by computer, are 6 kinds of 4-notes melody that are consisted of Japanese types (Minyo, Ritsu, Miyakobushi, Okinawa) and non-Japanese types (major, minor). All stimuli were presented by the method of paired-comparison and making subjects to judge the one that is more Japanese to them. We found the subjects above the age 10 (4th grade) have the tonality sense of judging Japanese or non-Japanese. The subjects under this age, particularly kindergarten children, do not have the sense of tonality to judge. This means the tonalities have been made up by the age 10, Also, we found the experiences of learning music instruments have no effect on getting the sense of tonality. In this experiment, We confirmed the theory that the sense of tonality develops until about the age 6-7 and is established by at the age 8-9, was insisted sparingly. | |||||||||
