| 内容記述 | In Japanese economy, there has been marked concentrations of population, production, and income in the Metropolitan area and the re-increasement of regional differentials of them since the 1980s. But the degrees of concentration in the Metropolitan area and regional differentials of financial business activities are much higher than those of real economy's activities. In this paper I make surveys of the past processes and the present states of concentration in the Metropolitan area of financial business activities and regional differentials of them in Japan, using four indices of financial business activities in each region, that is, the number of banking offices in each region, gross regional product of financial and insurance businesses in prefectural accounts, total balance of regional deposits and savings, and total balance of banks' lendings in each region. The consideration is by two-steps. First, I consider financial businesses as a whole, thereafter I consider them by kind of financial business. In these considerations, we can get the following results. First, of four indices of finacial business activities used here, total balance of banks' lendings disposes the highest degrees of concentration in the Metropolitan area and of regional differentials of financial business activities. In contrast, the number of banking offices disposes the lowest degrees of concentration in the Metropolitan area and of regional differntials of financial business activities. Moreover, the later's degrees of concentration and regional differntials are even lower than those of real economy, i.e.population and production. Second, condidering financial businesses by kind of them, nationwide banks dispose the highest degrees of concentration in the Metropolitan area and of regional differentials, of all kinds of financial businesses. Judging from the high ratio of nationwide banks' activities in the whole financial business activities, the substantial portions of concentration in the Metropolitan area and of regional differntials of financial business activities in Japan are brought about by those of nationwide banks' activities. | |||||||
