| 内容記述 | This study was conducted to develop a new aggressiveness scale for children and to examine the predictability of aggressive and prosocial behaviors by aggressiveness and empathy. Sixteen items, modified for children from Buss and Durkee's (1957) Hostility Scale, were administered to 322 5th- and 6th-graders. The final scale was a 15-item aggressiveness scale for children (ASC) and was found to have high reliability and validity. Empathy was assessed by selfratings; aggressive and prosocial behaviors were assessed by both peer nomination and teacher-ratings. Aggressiveness as measured by the ASC and self-reported empathy significantly predicted peer- and teacher-reported aggressive and prosocial behaviors. The correlations between subjects' personality traits and behaviors were all significant but under .20. These resuits support Mischel's (1968) classic finding. | |||||||
