| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to present the characteristics of family support for upbringing of children by Houmen-iin (direct committee) in Osaka prefecture. The current study conducted a case study, focusing on the articles for "problems related to upbringing of children" in annual reports of the Houmen-iin in Osaka prefecture for the period between 1919 and 1926. The present study found that 1) "problems related to upbringing of children" occurred from "economic issue" and "medical issue" , and that 2) Houmen-iin optionally provided the families with necessary things that enable them to cope with their lives, and 3) often managed families by putting their children up for adoption or apprenticeship (servants). The characteristics of Houmen-iin's support could include the management of social recourses and developments of and negotiation with social recourses on the basis of their judgment for each family condition. | |||||||
