| 内容記述 | This study identifies the attitudes and behavior of parents who send their children to small specially accredited schools. The study was conducted in Tosayama Gakusha, a compulsory education school in hilly and mountainous area of Kochi City. The results revealed that, firstly, the factors 'chosen' by parents were the educational activities implemented to create a distinctive school, the natural environment and the method of commuting to school. Secondly, with regard to school-centred community cooperation, it was found that parents' interest in the community increases when their children enroll in school. On the other hand, it was also found that there are challenges in terms of interaction between parents and their involvement in the community after their children have graduated. Two of the practices at Tosayama Gakusha, namely, the school becoming a transmitter of local information and making parents feel attached to the local area through educational activities, can be implemented in many small specially accredited schools. |
