| 内容記述 | This study verifies whether the developed concept-based curriculum and performance tasks promote the understanding of lower secondary school students' experimental skills of material density and the concept of density. In the recent survey on implementation of the curriculum guidelines for lower secondary schools, problems in the measurement of material volume using graduated cylinders, preparation of tables and graphs, and data analysis and interpretation were noted. In previous studies, the introduction of the amount per unit quantity in elementary school mathematics and functions and proportionality in lower secondary school mathematics has promoted a better understanding of the concept of density. Therefore, in the 1st grade of the lower secondary school, the “density” units; knowledge of facts (Know) such as volume, mass, and graph creation; concepts related to relationships such as proportional functions (Understand); and processes and skills (Do) and developed performance tasks corresponding to it have been addressed. Subsequently, the improvement of skills such as planning and processing of the results obtained through the analysis by performance assessments and formation of the third usage of the intensive quantities among the survey problems (“density test”) could be achieved. |
