| 内容記述 | This article summarizes the function of limit setting in play therapy. Psychotherapy is an opportunity for clients to face their inner selves and recover themselves. The limiting field is the vessel that guarantees the freedom of the client's internal work. In play therapy, the therapist directly undertakes transference and countertransference. The process of play therapy becomes a maternal place based on "acceptance" and "empathy". However, when situations arise in which "playing" and "thinking" are not possible, such as impulsive behavior, repetition of the same play, a limiting phase may occur. The therapist's continued struggle is the starting point for healing and acceptance of the client's pain. When the therapist's "questions" are communicated as limits, the client receives clues to think about himself or herself. It is suggested that the setting of limits deepens acceptance and empathic understanding and may provide an opportunity to regain the ability to "play" and "think". | |||||||
