| 内容記述 | Sekigan-ji Temple in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, is a temple known for its concentration of cultural properties, housing important cultural assets designated at the national, prefectural, and municipal levels. However, a survey conducted by Nara University of Education has revealed that many cultural properties at the temple remain undesignated. Among these undesignated items are works from the Heian period—such as a seated statue of Amitabha Tathagata, a standing statue of Manjusri Bodhisattva, and Iron Khakkara Head— which serve as evidence of the temple’s long history through their existence. In addition, there are works such as the Seated Tile Buddha images and the image of Kasuga Akadōji that demonstrate the normative influence of Nara culture in Aichi Prefecture (formerly Mikawa Province). This study conducts an investigation and analysis of these works using methods from art history, cultural heritage research, and scientific studies on cultural properties, and aims to present the findings to the public. It is hoped that this paper will serve as an impetus for the re-evaluation of these currently undesignated cultural assets. | |||||||||||
