The purpose of this paper is to make clear educational function of DAGASHIYA by means of observing children's behavior and hearing conversation between children and shopkeeper in the corner of DAGASHIYA. The results are as follows:1) Children who most frequently go to DAGASHIYA as customers are higher grades girls of elementary school. 2) When children come to DAGASHIYA for buying some sweets, shopkeeper usually talks with children about various topics.
