Our purpose here is not to cover every aspect of the survey but to focus on and present the teachers' attitudes toward the current elementary school English program as an integrated study and the possible implementation of English as a subject in the future. About half of the respondents (49.4%) are in favor of the current program and those who are opposed to it constitute 17.5%; while those in favor of English as a subject form 31.2% and those against it 28.1%. Furthermore, it turns out that those who have experienced the current program show stronger support for either type of program than those who have not experienced it. The related issues that have been identified, but remain unresolved in this report will be discussed in more detail later in a series of our forthcoming articles.}, pages = {93--98}, title = {総合的な学習としての英語と教科としての英語 -英語活動に対する奈良県小学校教諭の意識-}, volume = {13}, year = {2004} }
