Over the last years, they have held various events and projects, such as annual summer camp for their children in order to give them an opportunity to meet each other who have lived separately throughout Nara Prefecture. They have also sponsored children's cultural festivals to demonstrate their own ethnic culture. The aims of this paper are to report on the activities of "Guardian's Association" during the past 12 years, and to clarify the role of the guardian in fostering their children's ethnic identities. Reflecting what "Guardian's Association" did for these 12 years, we would like to confirm what kinds of educational practices are expected of the organization of the foreign children's guardians. Furthermore we would like to extract information and learning to be shared among Japanese teachers in the field of the multicultural education from the history of their educational practices. This paper is composed as follows: Firstly, the situations of the Korean people in Nara Prefecture, and the aim of "Guardian's Association" are described. Secondly, the activities of "Guardian's Association" for the past 12 years are roughly sketched in the abbreviated chronological table. Thirdly, we mention what "Guardian's Association" systematically did, focusing on the main activities, what educational practices were appropriate to foster ethnic identity, and what children learned through the activities. Finally, considering the matters mentioned above, we go on to show the significances of the activities of "Guardian's Association" as well as their problems to solve in future.}, pages = {127--140}, title = {「奈良・在日外国人保護者の会」の活動とその意義 : 民族的アイデンティティの育成に焦点を合わせて}, volume = {54}, year = {2005} }
