| 内容記述 | This study examined the effects of the association strength between target and distracter items upon naming or categorizing target items in picture-word Stroop interference task. Subjects were 24 undergraduate students. Half of them were required to name or categorize the target pictures, ignoring a distracting word. We made two item association strength conditions, strong and weak association pairs of target and distracter. The presentations of stimulus, other all time factors and records of responses were controlled by a computer with a Mind Lab. Program. Stimulus were embedded words (distracting words : hiragana letters) inside line drawings (target pictures). The main results were as follows : In the naming task, strong association pairs occurred more large interference than weak strong pairs. But in the categorizing task, strong association pairs facilitated categorization than weak association pairs. We discussed these results on the basis of Glaser and Glaser (1989) model, semantic encoding hypothesis. | |||||||
