| 内容記述 | The purpose of this experiment was to investigate whether category typicality effects were due to the difference of strategy use by category or the difference of activation of semantic memory relations. Ninety students were equally assigned to the intentional recall condition, the incidental-meaningful orienting condition, or the incidental-nonmeaningful orienting condition. The half of Ss in each recall condition were given typicality list, remainings were given atypicality list. Each list was contained thirty-two items, which composed of five examplers from six categories and two buffer items. Following memorizing or doing orienting task on 32 items, free recall was required for each list condition. Under both the intentional condition and incidental-meaningful orienting condition, the amount of recall and clustering in typical list were greater than those in atypical list, but the differences between both list conditions were not observed under the incidental-nonmeaningful orienting condition. These findings showed that category typicality effects were due to automatic activation of semantic memory relations rather than strategy based category. | |||||||||
