| 内容記述 | We have accepted 29 in-service foreign teacher students during the past six years in Nara University of Education. They are almost all from Asian countries, come from very different backgrounds, possess varied ability in Japanese, and have different training goals. Through six years experience, we can ascertain some of their most common training needs. The author has made some suggestions to improve the "In-service foreign teacher training students system" as follows. (1) We should have Japanese classes as part of our training program to improve their Japanese, because the six months' Japanese training period in Osaka tIniversity of Foreign Studies is too short to enable them to communicate effectively in Japanese. In the Japanese classes, the lessons should be focused on the educational terms such as "Course of study". (2) Field-work programs should be held to experience Japanese life and culture such as visiting schools. To make effective programs, it's necessary for us to co-operate with voluntary organizations which are active in accepting foreign students. (3) Some events should be held on campus to give them chances to meet ordinary students who want to asociate with foreign students. (4) "The tutors" who take care of foreign students should receive a careful orientation of what sort of service would be expected by them. The author believes that these suggestions should be realized not only in Nara University of Education but also in other universities, where foreign teacher training students are accepted. | |||||||
