| 内容記述 | The present study investigated the congruity effect on the frequency of false recognition to the associates of target words as an index of the degree of elaboration. The experiment involved orienting task in incidental memory paradigms. Forty-six subjects were asked to rate the degree of semantic congruity between a sentence frame and its target followed by unexpected recognition and recall tests. Three types of sentence frame were used : Semantic-Syntactic congruous (CC), Semantic incongruous-Syntactic congruous (IC) and Semantic-Syntactic incongruous (II). The frequency of false recognition to the associates of target words in CC and IC sentence frames were greater than that of them in II ones, but the difference between the former two sentences was not observed. CC and IC sentence frames led to a better recall than II ones, but the difference between the former two sentences was not observed. These findings showed that target words in syntactic congruous sentence was more elaborately processed than those in syntactic incongruous ones. | |||||||
