This study was undertaken to investigate changes in blood sugar and blood lactate concentrations in mice after the termination of various exercise loads (mild, moderate and exhaustive intensities) for 10 minutes on the treadmill in both untrained and exhaustively trained groups. Results obtained were as follows. (1) The changes in blood sugar concentration 1 ) At the time of mild exercise load, blood sugar concentration maintained the resting level in both untrained and exhaustively trained groups and there was no effect of exercise. 2 ) At the time of moderate exercise load, blood sugar concentration significantly decreased immediately after, 15 minutes after and 30 minutes after the termination of exercise in both untrained and exhaustively trained groups, but thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 60 minutes. The changes showed similar tendency between two groups and there was no effect of physical training. 3 ) At the time of exhaustive exercise load, blood sugar concentration in untrained group significantly decreased immediately after, 15 minutes after, 30 minutes after and 60 minutes after the termination of exercise. On the other hand, blood suger concentration in exhaustively trained group significantly decreased immediately after, 15 minutes after and 30 minutes after the termination of exercise. But thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 120 minutes in the former and 60 minutes in the latter after the termination of exercise. (2) The changes in blood lactate concentration 1 ) At the time of mild exercise load, there was no effect on blood lactate concentration in exhaustively trained group. On the other hand, blood lactate concentration significantly increased 30 minutes after the termination of exercise in untrained group, but thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 60 minutes. 2 ) At the time of moderate exercise load, blood lactate concentration significantly increased immediately after the termination of exercise in both untrained and exhaustively trained groups, but thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 15 minutes. 3 ) At the time of exhaustive exercise load, blood lactate concentration significantly increased immediately after the termination of exercise in both untrained and exhaustively trained groups, but thereafter it recovered to the resting level in 15 minutes. |
