内容記述 This study is one of a series of studies attempting to clarify the problems of drawing development in handicapped children. It's important for us to look at the drawing of child in relation to various other functions. In the present reseach, we attempted to analyze the developmental changes of human figures with the progress of the developmental stages in relation to the ability of copying geometric figures, and to examine the basic factors with the drawing performance in mentally retarded children. Subjects were four mentally retarded children enrolled in class for handicapped children at junior high school. They ranged at the developmental stages from the twodimensional forming to the linear transformation operation. They were administered the the Goodenough Draw-A-Man Test both at the 1st grade and 3rd grade of junior high school. Drawings of each subject were analyzed in changes of the developmental stages. Each subject was also tested the copying ten geometric figures such as ○, +, □, △, ◇, 凸 in order to trace the development of the copying geometric figures. Fur thermore, the Kyoto Child Guidance Clinic Infant Development Test was given to each subject in order to examine the basic factors with the drawing performance. Results were as follows : 1 ) With the progress of the developmental stages, the Draw-A-Man Test scores of each subject increased and the qualitative change of drawings were shown. 2) The Draw-A-Man Test were connected with space-cognition abilities and with manual operations such as copying geometric figures. 3 ) From these results, we discussed the developmental changes of drawings at various developmetal stages between the stage of the two-dimensional forming and that of the linear transformation operation in relation to the basic factors with the drawing performance.
