| 内容記述 | There are various aspects such as language, movement, emotion and socialization, which are functionally related with each other in the process of child development. It's important for us to look at the one specific function of child in relation to various other functions. In the previous studies, we examined the language development of mentally retarded children in relation to the development of finger activity. Furthermore, we examined the relation between language and other functional development in mentally retarded and autistic children. Many of handicapped children have difficulties in acquiring the motor abilities, and this is one of the important problems in educational practice for handicapped children. In the present research, we attempted to examine the relation between motor development and visual perception, and this attempt was made to clarify the problems of motor development in mentally retarded children. Tests of motor abilities were given to thirty-four mentally retarded children, and the Frostig Developmental Test of Visual Perception was administered to each subject in order to estimate his perceptual age. The results indicated that motor abilities advanced with progress on developmental stages from the 2 dimensional forming to the linear transformation operation, and there was a high correlation between motor development and visual perception. | |||||||
