| 内容記述 | The purpose of this experiment was to examine the informational and motivational properties of verbal reinforcement under three verbal reinforcement combinations. Sixty five-year-old children were tested in a two-hole bead dropping task. They were assigned to one of the three experimental conditions; RW, RN, and NW. The task was to drop beads one at a time into either one of the two holes of the box. The correct responses were to drop beads into the hole into which the subject dropped beads less frequently during two-minute operant trials. After operant trials the subject was given three blocks of two-minute reinforcement trials under one of the reinforcement combinations: (1) "Hit" for the correct response and "Miss" for the incorrect response (RW), (2) "Hit" for the correct response and nothing for the incorrect response (RN), and (3) nothing for the correct response and "Miss" for the incorrect response (NW). For each reinforcement block an informational property of verbal reinforcement was assessed by the proportion of the correct responses and a motivational property by the total number of responses. The following results were obtained. The proportion of the correct responses was highest in NW, midst in RW, and lowest in RN condition, which was interpreted to show that W was stronger than R for the informational property. The total number of the responses was not significantly different among three conditions, which was interpreted to show that the verbal reinforcement combinations did not differ from each other for the motivational property. | |||||||||
