| 内容記述 | Daniel Bell (1919- ) , Professor of Sociology at Harvard University, whom we have chosen in this article, is one of the sociologists that has currently attracted a mostly world-wide attention beyond the domain of America by his successive major works such as The End of Ideology : On the Exhaustion of Political Ideas in the Fifties (1960) , The Coming of Post-Industrial Society (1973) , The Cultural Contradictions of Capitalism (1976). We have considered how Daniel Bell came to play a leading role by his critical argumentation of the theory of "Mass Society" in the fifties and also examined what sort of assertion it really was that he had maintained in leading the theoretical extension from the theory on "Industrial Society" to the one concerning "Post-Industrial Society" during the period between the end of the fifties and the beginning of the seventies with respect to the general trends of development in which the sociological social theories in America after the forties have produced the series of "Mass Society," "Industrial Society" through "Post-Industrial Society" corresponding with the actual phases of development in American Society. We have tried further to understand Bell's entire interpretations about sociological theories by examining the substantial contents of "The Cultural Contradictions of Capitahsm" late in the seventies as well as of "The End of Ideology" in the sixties, with a brief survey of his personality and contributions. | |||||||
