| 内容記述 | The purpose of this experiment was to examine the effects of the combinations of vicarious verbal reinforcements upon the children's performances in a Taffei-type verbal conditioning task. Three types of the vicarious reinforcement combinations were recorded in tapes and used as the models. These were (1) "Good" for a critical response and "Bad" for the other three non-critical responses (RW), (2) "Good" for a critical response and nothing for the others (RN), and (3) nothing for a critical response and "Bad" for non-critical responses (NW). One hundred and eighty-four 5th-graders from two elementary schools participated as the subjects. Each class was assigned to each one of the vicarious reinforcement combinations. The Taffel-type task was modified to fit in group administration. After 20 operant trials, 10 responses by a model tape were presented to all the class members, and then the subjects were required to choose a suitable name from the four alternatives printed on a booklet through 10 trials. The alternation of the model's and subjects' responses was repeated 6 times (60 trials). The results were that RW was significantly superior to either RN or NW, and the latter two did not differ from each other. The results were interpreted by both viewpoints which stress informational and motivational components of reinforcement. Our previous study with adults showed that RW and NW were significantly superior to RN. The discrepancy between the previous and present results may be attributed to children's inability to use W component in NW as effective information for learning. It was found that the effects of the vicarious reinforcement combinations depended on the subjects' reinforcement histories: the subjects who had received more approvals in the past performed better under NW than under the other two, whereas the subjects who had received more disapprovals performed better under RW. | |||||||||
