| 内容記述 | In the present paper an experimental analysis was attempted to reexamine Radloff's result that people without the relevant evaluative information would tend to show stronger affiliation tendency, and to test the hypotheses that people with low self-esteem and people with socially-oriented self-concept would, both, tend to show stronger affiliation tendency. Subjects were 80 women students drawn from an original sample of 232 junior-college freshmen. They were selected on the basis of self-esteem scores and self-concept scores (social-orientation vs. personal-orientation). Experiment was conducted under the pretext of opinion survey in relation to school expenses, and the affiliation tendency was measured by the extent to which subjects (half of them were given the evaluative information, and the rest were not) wanted to participate in the discussion group on the above topic. The major findings of the present study were as follows: (1) Subjects with evaluative information showed significantly stronger affiliation tendency than those without the information. (2) There was some suggestion that subjects with high self-esteem tended to show stronger affiliation tendency. (3) It was also suggested that subjects with personally-oriented self-concept tended to show stronger affiliation tendency. The obtained results were compared with those reported in earlier studies and some discussion was made in regard to the agreements and discrepancies together with a few suggestions for further analysis. | |||||||||
