| 内容記述 | Causal relations of early death, which is liable to occur in tillers developed in the rice nursery after transplantation, were analyzed from the point of view of chemical constituents of seedlings, especially nitrogen content and carbohydrate. It was, also, examined that what quality of seedlings is most favourable to an increase in the number of productive stems by utilization of tillers on the low position of nodes. The experimental results proved that quality of rice seedlings depends upon nitrogen content and carbohydrate as well as the mutual relation between them, and that death and life of tillers developed in the nursery bed are controlled by nitrogen content in particular. As regard to nitrogen content, the critical concentrations are 1.6%, and at the concentrations below it these tillers are hardly raised due to nitrogen deficiency, irrespective of soil temperature. In addition, a comparison between rice seedlings grown at upland nursery and those at lowland showed that the seedlings capable of developing their own tillers on the low position of nodes into productive stems are those grown at upland nursery, containing a large quantity of both nitrogen and carbohydrate. | |||||||
