| 内容記述 | The present study was designed to investigate the structure of the preschool children's intelligence on the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI). The WPPSI were administered to sixty-three 4-year-old preschool children with the mean age of 59 months. On the basis of their discrepancies between VIQ and PIQ, the Ss were classified into 3 groups; Group V(n=12) consisted of those children whose VIQ exceeded the PIQ by 10 or more points. Group P (n=12) included those children whose PIQ exceeded the VIQ by 10 or points. Group VP (n=34) contained those children whose VIQ did not differ from the PIQ by more than the absolute value of 10 points. 1. In Group V, 33.3% of the Ss were male as compared with 99.2% of Group P. This difference yields χ2=6.40, which is statistically significant (df=l, p<.05). 2. The differences in the following subtest scores among the 3 groups proved to be statistically significant (p<.01). A. Verbal Test (1) Information (3) Vocabulary (10) Comprehension B. Performance Test (6) Mazes (7) Geometric Design (9) Block Design This suggest that the differences in the intellectual abilities of the Ss for these subtests may produce the discrepancy between VIQ and PIQ on the WPPSI. 3. In order to examine the relationship between the discrepancy and the personality traits, Ss' parents were required to evaluate their children's personality traits on "The personality inventory for infant and children" devised by S. Takagi et. al.. Analysis of variance was conducted to evaluate the differences in personality traits scores among the 3 groups. In the items of dipendency and regression, the mean scores for Group VP were significantly higher than Group P, and in the item of emotional instability the mean score for Group VP was significantly higher than Group V and Group P. Though there were no statistically significant differences in other items of the test among 3 groups, fairly different tendencies were observed in the personality traits profiles. | |||||||
