| 内容記述 | Dokkyo is recited before both periods Shoya and Goya, its contents being extracts from Hokekyo (the Sutra of the Lotus). What is recited on the 1st of March is the same as what is recited on the 8th. And each couple of the following days---the 2nd and the 9th, the 3rd and the 10th,---the 7th and the 14th---has likewise its own Buddhist scriptures to be recited. What is introduced in the present issue is the scriptures recited in the Shoya period on the 1st (and the 8th) and on the 6th (and the 13th), respectively. In the Shoya period 2 priests out of 6, that is, the 7 Hirashu priests minus Shosekai, chant the scriptures in turn. In the Goya period 2 priests out of Nanza (consisting of 3 members) take up the recitation work. The melody of the recitation is cheerful and forceful ; especially its rhythm, in spite of its artlessness, strongly impresses itself on the mind. The melody is roughly classified into the following five types : Type A, Type B, Type C, Type D, and Type E as seen in "1-5," "13-15," "41-46," "68-71," "85-88", respectively. Of all the Shomyo(pl.) recited at the Nigatsudo Hall, Dokkyo is one of the finer ones because of its oldness and placidity. | |||||||
