| 内容記述 | (1) The writer demonstrated that textile industries are concentrated in some specific places in "The Regional Structure of Industries in Nara Prefecture" on the bulletin of Nara University of Education vol. 16, No. 1, cultural and social science. This paper has tried positively to analyze knitting industries which are the nucleus of textile industries in Nara Prefecture from the geographical point of view. (2) Knitting industries may be divided broadly into two categories, weft knitted fabrics and warp knitted ones. Further they can be subdivided into some types, circular knitted fabrics and underwears, flat knitted fabrics, hosiery, gloves, and the like. The manufacture process consists of three fundamental steps, knitting, dyeing and finishing, and sewing. Each of them can be broken into parts which operate to produce a special occupation respectively. Correspondingly it complicates the process of circulation from a wholesale dealer to a consumer through a retail dealer. (3) On a investigation of the nation-wide position of Nara Prefecture in knitting industries, it takes the first or second rank in the registered hosiery knitting machine. In the same way. it takes rank as the fifth in the registered circular knitting machine. Hosiery and circular knitted fabric industries are representative of knitting industries in Nara Prefecure. (4) In the latter part of the Meiji era, hosiery industries have developed as a subsidiary work on behalf of Yamato-cotton cloth and Yamato-cloth with splashed patterns in farm villages with former Umami-mura of, Kitakatsuragi-gun as the center. From the latter part of the Meiji era to the beginning of the Taisho, circular knitting industries have spread through various routs in areas with Yamatokoriyama and Yamatotakada as the centers. In Yamatotakada area, many knitting makers are descended from the weaver and thread-and-yarn merchant. The prosperity of knitting industries as we may see today, has been brought about after the Second World War. Especially hosiery industries have shown a rapid expansion based upon wooly-nylon introduced as a new raw yarn in 1952. The production of fleecy fabrics which was flourishing remarkably before has fallen into decay promptly after the Second World War according to the rapid reduced demand. Now ribbed and interlock knitting machines have been equipped in the place of a French ciarculr knitting frame. (5) The regional distribution of knitting industries is grouped into three types, namely, Umami-area of Koryocho and its vicinity distinguished by the development of hosiery industries, Yamatokoriyama area of a circular knitting fabric and underwear-producing center for domestic demand, and Yamatotakada area and its neighborhood where the hosiery industries spread from Umami area and the circular knitting fabric and underwear for foreign trade are localized. (6) The depreciation of profit assumes an acute phase through the shortage of labor and excessive competition among makers concerned. They call for the co-operation and industrial estate as a effective countermeasure. | |||||||
