| 内容記述 | In studies of rural pupils' achievement by tests, regional differences and factor-analysis have hitherto be^n mainly emphasized, but studies of content-analysis of achievement itself have not. In what field of each subject and to what extent rural pupils' achievement are superior or inferior and what direction they are taking, must be studied. In this paper we tried to show the characteristics of rural pupils' achievement by analyzing the data of national achievement tests made by the Ministry of Education from 1961 to 1963. From the results the type of rural pupils' achievement is inferior to the average mark in such sign subjects as Japanese language and mathematics and superior in such content subjects as social studies and natural sciences. The type of town pupils' achievement is in contrast with this. And also the same result was derived from the examination of data of rural pupils' achievement in Nara Prefecture, but exceptionally Japanese language achievement of rural junior high schools was fairly high, which was very noteworthy fact. We took up three branch schools of junior high schools as typical models for studying concrete instances of rural pupils' achievement and analyzed every small test-question in Japanese language and mathematics. According to these, in Japanese language they show better result in the field of understanding diction and grasping gist but not as good result in that of understanding each word and phrase and sentence construction. And in mathematics they are strong in the field of measuring but much weaker in number and formula. Japanese language and mathematics are the same sign subjects, but in the latter their level is markedly low especially in its fundamental field. Their inferiority in the reasoning and analyzing power of a slightly higher degree has relations with their lower intelligence. Referring to the past studies in the analysis of factors which regulated achievement, we chiefly considered the organization of multiple classes in schools, problems about teachers' themselves, and pupils' intelligence as the most important factors in view of the actual conditions of rural districts. | |||||||
