内容記述 The present study attempted to examine the needs of students of an elementary school for a Health Room and their emotional images of it. The students answered a question about reasons for visiting a health room and a question to assess their adaptation to school. They were also asked to give colors to the names "Health Room" and "My Class". The reasons for visiting the health room varied as a function of the grade and sex of the children. This result indicated the need for a "Health Room" depended upon developmental and sex differences. The words "Health Room" elicited two colors, white and red, whereas the words "My Class" elicited many other colors. These results were interpreted as indicating that the students had positive and negative emotional images of their class, but had positive emotional images of the health room. The color "black" was elicited from some children in response to the words "Health Room" and "My Class". These children were rated by their class teachers as not adapted to school. This suggested that a response which was elicited in the color-name association could be used for assessing the level of a student's adaptation to school.
