Due to the rapid progress in the realm of science and technology in recent years the volume of knowledge and information for the student to be imparted with has grown enormously. This means that students are required to memorize an immense volume of knowledge which forces them to neglect their personal involvement in the experimental phase of science education, depriving them of their interest in science as a whole. Additionally, nowadays students tend to obtain ready-made equipment and materials. Since they had few experiences to develope equipment during their school years, they do not know how to make them by hand and how to develop an ideal material by themselves. Our members of the Science Education Research Project have been trying to make new teaching equipment and to develop new teaching materials. In this paper , we introduce some of them. |
